To Visit Route 7 - Dà e contrà de Vale fin su la strada dei antichi frati ( From the hamlets of Valle up to the road of the ancient friars )

From the parking lot of the Civic Center in Valle San Floriano, take the sidewalk along the road heading east, following the colorful mural signage, which leads you to turn north toward the Parish Church after a short but steep climb. Upon reaching the churchyard, curve north and continue onto a hillside dirt road that offers panoramic views. From here, cross the municipal road called Via della Rosina, following the signage, a very short asphalt stretch that must be done with caution and respect for the rules. Then, skirt contrà Piazzette from below, but actually turn left and immediately right toward contrà Primon, heading toward the stream bed, crossing a delightful rural landscape.

The route then presents a ford of the Valletta stream, which is almost always dry. However, you should check safety conditions, as at certain times of the year, the water flow may make crossing inadvisable. After returning to the forest road, you have the option to turn right and follow Sentiero 2 uphill to Pradipaldo, passing through the naturalistic site of Gorghi Scuri, and from there descend while staying on Sentiero 2 toward Strada Coppole, Contrà Galassi Pianezzola, and from there return to the Parish Church of San Floriano.

Alternatively, after the ford on the forest road, you can turn left and follow the signage for Sentiero 7, continuing along Via Capo di Sopra, Via Bernardi, and then along the embankment of the Valletta stream for a long stretch southward until you reach the town center at Ponte Quarello.

From here, turn left onto Via Pertini and take Sentiero 2 uphill along Strada di San Benedetto, an ancient friars’ road where ancient hermitages were once located. You will be guided by the combined signage for Sentiero 7 and Sentiero 2 to the crossroads, where you bear left and then again left when you reach Strada di Sedea. Upon reaching the ancient Casa Berna, bypass it by leaving Sentiero 2 and continuing on Sentiero 7 westward along a cobblestone stretch that offers wide, enchanting panoramic views. The signage will soon guide you back down to the Church of Valle San Floriano, approaching from the east, and then downhill to your starting point.

The trail is easy to follow in terms of elevation: it is relatively long, covering about 10 km. However, it offers many stretches with enchanting and unspoiled rural and hillside landscapes.
