To live in Palazzo Doglione
Known in Venetian times as the Chancellery or Rocca di Mezzo, this edifice has been known as Palazzo della Loggia or Doglione since the 19th century.
The current building, which is rectangular, is the result of a reconstruction done in 1928-1930 following the demolition of the original structure. A crenellated tower with a small belfry and embellished with a unique sundial of fine workmanship leans against it. While Marostica was under the rule of the Republic of Venice (1404-1797), the palazzo housed offices and institutions that were a very important part of community life: the Municipal Chancellery and notary's office, the archives of the College of Notaries (there were 159 notaries in Marostica during the Venetian period), the Armory and, since 1676, the Monte di Pietà.
It has been known as Palazzo della Loggia or Doglione since the second half of the nineteenth century. It was the headquarters of the Comizio Agrario, the Civici Pompieri, then the Banca Popolare di Marostica, founded in October 2, 1892, began operating from it in January 1893.
In the large meeting room on the first floor you can admire ‘Il Buon Governo’, a large work of majolica panels by Gigi Carron, a local artist.
The building is currently the administrative and managerial headquarters of the Volksbank and the Fondazione Banca Popolare di Marostica Volksbank.
