I agree I disagreeGorghi Scuri is one of the most suggestive naturalistic sites in the area north of Marostica.
For genre enthusiasts, this place vaguely resembles the elven "Great Ravine" of "The Lord of the Rings". It represents, in the popular imagination of Venetian tradition, the ideal hiding place for Anguane and Salbanelli (mythological wood fairies and elves).
The Valley of Dark Chasms is certainly one of the most important wetlands in the territory of Marostica. A wetland is not only an area rich in water but much, much more. It is a complex ecosystem, as delicate as it is rich in biodiversity. From the faunal point of view, during wet periods some examples of black-yellow salamander and the European newt can be seen there, as well as crayfish, although now a rare species because of intensive fishing and pollution. You can also see many carnivorous species such as foxes, badgers, weasels, beech martens, rodents, without forgetting the significant ornithological presence. From birds to amphibians, up to the smallest insects, the Valletta stream, with its pools and waterfalls, is a true oasis for many animals: salamanders come to reproduce in these waters, migratory birds find refreshment there during their long journeys, dragonflies woo among the reeds...and hikers can immerse themselves in this atmosphere of peace and serenity just a few steps from the city centre.
